Huldah amazes me
She was asked to give the Lord`s opinion after a book of the Law was rediscovered. Strange that Jeremiah was not consulted...

Re: Huldah amazes me
Here are a few theories: That's probably b/c as a man Jeremiah had something more important to do at the time. Or maybe Jeremiah was the final spiritual covering and authority over what Huldah said. Or maybe Huldah was usurping Jeremiah's authority. Or maybe the people that asked her opinion were backsliden and in rebellion against God's order. Therefore whatever she thought the Lord was leading her to do was null and void. :heeheehee
Or maybe God really does use women in positions of spiritual authority. No. That would be too much of a stretch. Quote:

Or maybe she was just a servant of the Lord who was known for her consistent, ethical, honest, spiritual and intellectual abilities. Maybe she was known to be in favor with God and Man.

Re: Huldah amazes me
Well, whatever it was she gave them the word of the Lord...
I find the circumstances quite interesting... Her words from God brought quite a revival to the priesthood and to the nation of Israel. I don´t think she usurped authority at all. She took no authority sharing God´s word. She fulfilled her duty as a prophetess. I just have always wondered where Jeremiah was at the time? |
Re: Huldah amazes me
I preached at one of our churches tonight...I took no authority over anyone...only shared with them a beautiful Bible story.

There was a pastor in my home town of Nerk, Ahia that was part of a LARGE Pentecostal organization. His wife had more power in her 15 minute testimony than he did in a 2 hour hells fire and brimestone message. Good lord could she speak and sing, Her's was to God's glory therefore it actually moved God which brought his presence down. His? well not real sure? |
