Lakeland Florida Revival?????
 

Are there any AFFers with a report from the Lakeland Florida revival? I will be doing a radio interview and I would like some background.

Kinda weird...after the Starfield concert debacle where kids were injured at a church concert in Abbotsford, BC Canada, I have been praying for the church folk there...then today, while gathering info for a great Canadian songwriter, Brian Doerkson, I found out he is from Abbotsford, so finally in doing a little research about this revival in Florida, I found out the evangelist is from....Abbotsford! I have never heard of this place before and now I am thinking, hmmm weird!:reaction

Abbitsford is in the Fraser Valley about 45 miles east of Vancouver.
It is also called the Bible belt.

Apparently the revival has moved to the Detroit Tiger's winter stadium and it is over 10,000 strong. In just a month too!!!! The preacher is a Todd Bentley a pentecostal evangelist.

yeah, but those people can't be receiving the REAL Holy Ghost,
and can't be speaking in REAL tongues,
and can't be receiving REAL healings and miracles,
and can't be praising and worshiping the REAL God,
because,
Todd Bentley has body piercings and tattoos and he does not hold papers with the UPC.

It's all either satanic power or faked.

I just heard about this revival today. A friend told me that her son and daughter in law went last week and had to stand in line for 4 hours every day just to get in!

I certainly would not say it is satanic or all faked... But it doesn't mean I am comfortable with piercings or tattoos.

I could go and give thanks where I do agree and believe God is working - don't we all do this at our churches?

It would be problematic to me if I thought God could only work AFTER stamping his full and absolute approval on the messenger.

Having said that, just because someone has UPC papers doesn't mean that he is approved by God, the lack of papers doesn't prove that he isn't approved by God.
God doesn't need a man made permission slip to use who He chooses to. All the papers are for is bragging rights amoung the brethern. They mean absolutely nothing to God.

Oh, be careful with that attitude.
A man or woman is not issued a license to preach until he or she has met stringent requirements and has been thoroughly examined by men in positions of authority.
