It would be interesting to know who coined the phrase.

I have a friend who is Bible Methodist and adheres to the same principles of dress and hair as I (or is it me...whatever), and the word 'standards' has been used in reference to them. And what of the dear ladies in Texas?! Their theology does not line up with mine, but they and my Bible Methodist friend look more like us than us...does that make them holy?! I am not questioning why I do what I do, and do not complain about it. But to say that it is my 'standard' of holiness is not so. |
Re: The word 'standards'...
Maybe they are called that because they are rules that are supposed to be "standard" within a group of churches?
I don't know, really. :coffee2 |
Re: The word 'standards'...
There is only one standard I hope to measure up to someday. Wait... let me rephrase that.... there is only what Standard I hope to measure up to someday. His name is Jeus. He is THE Standard for all of us.
