Born to be Wild - Father's Day sermon

Well, here it is. I promised video from the service and here it is!!! It is only the first 10min of the service, but at least you can catch a glimpse of the fun and see me ride my son's Sportster into the church and onto the platform!! The previous video you saw was what we played until the time I entered the church.

The second service was fairly packed and we had a really great time. Enjoy!!! :D

I enjoyed that, your congregation is blessed to have you as a pastor.

For Discussions sake...

Why celebrate what some men get delivered from?

The Bike was pretty cool...but why dress like a Hell's Angel gang member?

I can't see the value in devaluing men who don't have or ride motorcycles by promoting that doing it is somehow wild and wooly?

I bet people loved it especially the women who probably told their husband "Why can't yo u be like our pastor"? Go buy a motorcycle so you can rev our engines...

I don't know it just seems more a celebration of what folks are delivered from than manliness....imo...

Relax Randy, people don't get delivered from motorcycles, the get delivered from sin. I don't ride a bike and I didn't feel the least bit devalued. Maybe you should read Wild at Heart.

Completely relaxed.... I agree with you...and I am not saying all men would feel that... but I think that it just promotes something that at the core does not promote Christian value....

Anything that promotes a Godly view of what a man should be is positive and therefore promotes true Christianity.

Then why do we have to stereotype men? In my opinion it just sends the wrong message that's all...

God created men to be a little rough around the edges. My wife was getting after my son the other day because when he comes in from playing with the neighbor boys he has broken his glasses, had a black eye, sprained his ankle, wrist, and a finger. Why does he do this and think its fun? He is becoming a man. I had to tell her to let him alone. We complain and say, “Where are the men,” well society has stereotyped them and emasculated them, be sensitive, don’t be so rough, be careful, what they are saying is be more like a woman. I applaud the good pastor for teaching his men to be men.
