In divorce court: Megachurch pastor Jamal-Harrison Bryant and his wife of 5 1/2 years, Gizelle Bryant.

She filed in Montgomery County on Jan. 9, alleging adultery. She states in court papers that the pastor makes more than $350,000 a year.

He filed in Baltimore City the same day. His complaint says nothing about cheating. It does state that “there is no hope of reconciliation.”

“This is a private matter between Dr. Bryant and his wife, and we’d like to keep this matter private,” said Jimmy A. Bell, lawyer for the Empowerment Temple pastor.

The couple have three children, 1-year-old twins and a 3-year-old.

The big question: Who gets the Bentley?

Now July 2008 apparently the wife is back in church and everyone wanted to dance and shout about it yet when Jamal welcomed her back, only the Saints gave Praise, He stood in silence, she showed hardly no emotions. Or perhaps she came to church only because it was Fathers day???? Hmmmmmm.

Can't answer for them but it always interests me when preachers with high visiblity end up in these type situations.

Very interesting to see how they and their churches handle them. I find t hat most times African American churches are very forgiving. Their pastors can pretty much do anything and a majority of the congregation will back them

I don't think we should be obsessed with following these things but I also don't think we should stick our heads in the sand and pretend they don't exist.

I don't even know (or care) who Jamal-Harrison Bryant is.

I assume he is part of the glitzy, amoral, "rich and famous" jet-setter in-crowd

What I mean is, yes it is a good thing, but why should it matter to us because we don't go to that church, we aren't a part of that family...I wasn't trying to be mean or insensitive.
