Doctrine of not voting

Are you guys aware that there are churches that teach folks that they shouldn't vote? The funny thing is these church people take advantage of what the system has to offer because they have a lot of children. These things include WIC, food stamps, medicaid, etc. Their children go to public school and they work secular jobs. With all that in mind, why would they teach people not to particpate in the political process? She says as citizens they have the right to those things.

Not to mention, the freedom to vote is precious because of the fight so many have fought for this equal opportunity.

What are your thoughts?

I believe you should vote ...vote then keep it out of the pulpit. Dont preach about politics and dont preach aginst it especially voting ...thats ingnorant whats next dont exercise free speech? Doesnt she realize that voting is basiclly what gave her the rights to these things. Assitance progams see alot of votes before they are passed . The vote for the politician who proposed it votes is the senate or house to approve it etc...

Yes i am aware of this kind of thing. and I agree that if you are going to not participate in the political process, you shouldnt be on public assistance.....

errrr.... .which is kind of a paradox for me because I believe that if you are on public assistance you should be precluded from voting!

i'm in trouble arent I?
