What Good Will Obama Accomplish ?
 

I did not vote for President Elect Obama,however I believe some good can be accomplished by him.
What good things do you believe President Obama will do ?
I believe for the best.

I think he will close Gitmo and make our guys abide by the Geneva convention. That's a good thing, imo.

So much of economics is driven by emotion and during times of economic downturn people need an inspirational leader to infuse the so-called "American Spirit" back into people. America is like the San Francisco 49'er's, they had some good years and a golden legacy...but things are tough right now. The Niners fired their old coach and the new coach is trying to inspire the players to live up to their potential and last night they almost pulled it off against the number one team in their division. I think that's what John McCain meant when he said 'the fundamentals of our economy are strong'. We have what it takes to get back on track, but we need somebody to inspire us, ala Ronald Reagan style. I think Obama has the ability and potential to be that kind of inspirational leader, and I believe that in spite of the grave misgivings I have about him and his policies in other areas. But, we'll see how it all shakes out. Hopefully he won't get mired in an innocuous issue like gays in the military like Clinton did in his first year.

BTW: I mentioned this idea to a couple of people from a large UPC church not far from here the other night. The acted as if I'd pee'd in their coffee. Sigh.

I disagree with the man's philsophies but he is our president,but I believe for the best.

I'm expecting little, but hoping for a lot. Hoping that I'm wrong, actually.

So far, the policies and ideas that are being reported in the news the last few days are scary. We'll just have to see what he does, and how "change" is applied.

What I really hope is that he turns out to be exactly as liberal as we expect and that turns into 1994 all over again.
