Cult group accused of making hit list
http://www.shawanoleader.com/
See the woman in that pic? (those of you viewing it on any other day will see a different picture) She has her hair up and is wearing a blouse and skirt. She is NOT Apostolic nor anything close to it. She is part of a cult group that resides in Shawano, WI. This is the city where I've lived for the last three years. http://www.shawanoleader.com/article...news/news1.txt That is the specific article about what they are now accused of, although it's been all over the news up there for about a week now. There is a lot of history with this group and the city officials. Seems that their leader doesn't like to pay his taxes, so he cries persecution when they pull his gas and liquor licenses for his businesses. The women of this group look just like Apostolic women. LR and the church she attends is often mistaken as being a part of this group. I know a few of those women from the cult and they are very nice and kind. It's a shame they are taken up with a cult. It will be interesting to see what happens with this group and their leader if this thing goes down. |

I wonder what kind of threats she made? Do you know?

Re: Cult group accused of making hit list
When we lived in Wisconsin we knew several members of a church group that appeared for all intents and purposes, apostolic as well. I don't think they were part of THIS org, but they sure had the look down.

When we lived in UT, our neighbors thought we were part of LDS polygamist group, due to the outerwear!

They own several properties and own several businesses. There are businesses that lease from them and they have to pay the property taxes in order to keep their businesses running because he doesn't pay them! The reason why that woman was in court to begin with is because of a loitering charge her and others from that group were given when they forced the operator of the Ponderosa restaurant to close their doors, claiming he hadn't paid rent in several months. The cult members were there videotaping the employees and even trying to stop some of them from taking out personal items. Several of them were arrested. He also has a marquee sign on one of his businesses, claiming that his businesses keep prices low and he's all about doing things for the city. It's a crock. He does nothing for the city at all. And even though the federal government is involved, this is something that won't hit the mainstream media. It's small town stuff. |
Re: Cult group accused of making hit list
I am glad they were caught before attempting to carry out their intents.
Maybe they'll be prosecuted on terrorist charges. Now that would be a case for the lawyers to discuss! I'll be interested in hearing the outcome of all of this too. |

Their leader is in his 70's. It would be interesting to see what happens when he's gone. He attempted to persuade my former pastor into having his church folks join his group. That didn't fly! |
Re: Cult group accused of making hit list
Were any of their "targets" pregnant women? If yes, would they be "baby killers?"
Will his organization be branded as a "terrorist" organization? Are they wire tapping all of the "smart folks" phones who are connected to this guy's organization? Will they send this guy and his followers to Guantanamo Bay? |
