Censorship on Search Engines?

OK A few days ago I started a thread called "Something is Happening of Historic Proportions." I didn't know how to copy and paste the location where I read the original post; but noted that one could goo-gle it and find lots of sites where it was at. It was making the rounds big time.

A day or two later I found that the forum was listed when this title was goo-gled; which is how the author of the post found us.

Now, here is the interesting part.... It doesn't appear that we show up anymore as having this post nor most of the other sites that were originally listed.

Perhaps somebody can give me a better explanation than censorship. I wait to hear more from the computer savy of which I am not!

Re: Censorship by Google?

you do realize that Goo-gle is a very very very hard left company dont you?

Re: Censorship by Google?

Yes but I didn't know they were in the business of censoring. This is amazing if true.

Newman, I dont know if that is true or not in this case, but I have heard from time to time that things of this nature happen.

Goo-gle has been accused of giving weight to left leaning sites.

It wouldnt shock me at all.

This was from the Atlas Shrugs website. After I read it, I goo-gled the post that I wrote of above and found most of the sites missing that had been there before. Ferd...I find censorship to be scary stuff.

STEALTH CENSORSHIP: THE NEW BROWNSHIRTS
Here is your typical recruit into Obama's "well funded" civilian army. I received this IM last night on AOL:

GuyInGothamX: I am monitoring your site---if you or any of your hate- filled followers even make a passing joke about violence toward Barack Obama or his family, I am going straight to the FBI. I don't put anything past you or your racist followers----everything you do is an incitement to violence... additionally, i have reported your site to the Wiesenthal Center for Tolerance, the ADL, the ADC and the NAACP... you may think race-baiting and religious bigotry are entertaining, but i'm not sure those organizations will

It's not illegal, or hate speech. The O-bot did not threaten violence or smear my race or religion, just threatened to tell the FBI. It is very carefully constructed.

Goo-gle has scrubbed my site from their search engines. Months ago they removed birth certificate images and blocked/suspended anti- Obama blogs.

Re: Censorship by Google?

Newman, I am not exactly a fan of censorship either but we are talking about a private company not a government entity.

a private company can have what ever content they like and block what they dont.

have you tried other search engines that dont use goo-gle? what results do you find?

Re: Censorship by Google?

But Ferd Mainstream media isn't doing its job and instead we have bloggers finding info that most of the public doesn't believe because the media isn't telling them.

Most people don't know that Goo-gle is in the business of censorship.

Re: Censorship by Google?

Then it is in our interest to let people know this.

I agree that they are. I agree that the MSM isnt doing its job.

and I agree that it is a very very good thing to point these things out.

let me re-ask, have you tried other search engines that arent connected to Goo-gle? I ask that because if we find one that will work better and not censor, then we need to be using it and telling others about it....

Re: Censorship by Google?

I didn't originally use the other search engines so I wouldn't have a basis of comparison as to what has been scrubbed from their files. I suspect that other search engines might not have as much content organized as Goo-gle does to begin with so the mere absence of some websites wouldn't lend itself to censorship allegations in and of itself.
