Salaries of the CEOs of the trouble companies

I ran into this nice little article online. It is unreal what these CEOs made last year as they steered their companies into the proverbial iceberg.

Here's just a little sample:
COMPANY: Lehman Brothers
CEO: Richard S. Fuld

2007 TOTAL COMPENSATION: $34,382,036 , (according to SEC. Source: AFL-CIO Executive PayWatch Database)

FINANCIALS: Stock closed at 14 cents on Oct. 7, down from 52-week high of $67.73.
JOBS LOST: 6,000 in '07; 1,400 in '08. Many more at risk, but Barclays deal could save 9,000 out of 25,000 jobs worldwide. Most NYC employees now expected to keep jobs.

Yeah they fly in their private jets to talk to the government for bailouts.

To me the insult to injury was not absolutely barring them from doing the same types of things with the bailout money. It just reeks to me of the financial equivalent of an outgoing administration handing out legal pardons.

Yes, I imagine they have a few "essentials" they could sell too.
