The Joy of the New Birth
 

In times past the joy that comes with the birth of a child was lost on me. It seemed like a no brainer, of course you would be happy. So explaining it to me seemed silly at best. People would say, you won't understand until you have one. To which I would think, well I plan to never understand then. Or the classic, it's different when it your own. To which I would think snot, spit and dirty diapers are the same no matter who's kid it is.

All the joy was lost on me because I had nothing to compare it to. No reference point. That is until a year ago. Now it all makes perfect sense. All of the snot, spit and dirty diapers are worth it when I compare it to the joy of holding and playing with Carter.

Jesus said, unless you have been born of the water and the Spirit you can not see the Kingdom of God. So attempting to explain to people that they can have joy unspeakable through the New Birth is also lost on them. Because they have nothing to compare it to. No reference point. Until they feel that burden lifted from their soul. Then and only then does it all make sense.

Our task it great, but our LORD is greater. So like those around me that did their level best to convice me that having a child was a joy worth having. I say, let us do our level best, in the face of a world that seems determined to go to hell, to convice them that the New Birth is a joy worth having.

I want to encourage someone right now that is discouarged, GOD is with you, HE has called you don't give up. Revival will come. People will finally hear your call to repentance and you will have many new babes in the LORD.

Right and what is a real surprise is when we think we were born again all those years we sat on a pew and all of a sudden the real thing happens it blows our minds.

The dead don't know that they are dead and until they are born again from above they can't come to Christ or even realize that they need Him.
