kids crack me up............

The other day I took 2 of my daycare kids to lunch. While we are sitting there eating, Noah, age 7, starts talking about what he's learned at Friend's Club (that's kind of like a Tuesday afternoon Sunday School that our church puts on. We reach alot of kids, like Noah, who are not able to come to Sunday School on a Sunday morning)

So Noah says to me, "They told us in Friend's Club that if we want to go to Heaven, we gotta be born again."

I said, "Ya, that's right."

And Noah says, "Well, I don't want to be born again"

I'm like, "You don't???"

"No", Noah says to me. "I did that once and it hurt really bad. I cried alot! I don't ever want to do THAT again!"

So then I go on and try to explain to him that being born again means that you tell God you are sorry for sinning and then trying not to do those things again.

So of course, he wants to know what sin is. Well, I try explaining that sin is anything that would make God unhappy.

At that point, Rachel, his 5 year old sister speaks up and says, "Ya, like not obeying mom and dad. or fighting or stealing"

Noah looks at me and as serious as a heart attack, he asks, "So are there any sins that don't involve my mom and dad?"

By this time I almost have to leave the table so I don't crack up in front of him!

You all should try doing daycare! It's soooooo much fun!

Here's one I thought was cute the other day......my cousin's littlest boy has just learned his numbers up to a hundred and on his grandma's birthday, they called her. He asked her how old she was and she told him 78. He was astounded and he asked her, "Grandma, did you start at one?????"

I remember once when my youngest was probably three. We had heard Pastor preach a sermon that morning and he made reference to Jezebel. Well, that afternoon we met my mother-in-law for lunch, and after lunch she takes out a tube of lipstick and starts applying it. Imagine our embarrassment when our three year old looks at Nana and says, " Ooh, Nana, Jezebel wore makeup and she got "et" by the dogs". LOL Thankfully she could find humor in the statement.

Here we thought you were just naturally cracked up. Who would have thought that it was kids that did that to you. =)

My great nephew is staying with me right now and he is 4. He has a saying of late when he is fixing to do something. "Don't try this at home". It cracks his mother up.

When one of my nieces was about eight years old and they had just started going to church the preacher was preaching and said that he could see folks were bound in chains and needed to be set free.

So on the way home she told her mother that the preacher lied. My sister then asked her why she said that, and she replied that nobody was in chains because she looked around and could see no one had chains on them. :)
