Power for us according to Christ's Seating
Ephesians 1:15-21 KJV Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, (16) Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; (17) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, (21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:There is a direct connection with how much Power God has sent our way and the power God used to raise Christ up to the right hand throne of power. In fact, Christ did that so we could have this power. Jesus did not have to manifest in flesh, die for our sins and ascend to heaven just so He could sit on a throne. He was and always will be God. But He did this for our sakes. And Paul said there is such power for us right now here in the world that he had to pray that we get a revelation of it and understand it. It is an issue that is further than, though based upon, the fact that He died on the cross for our sins. What He did on earth was to deal with sins. But what He does now in glory on the throne has to do with overcoming power for us to live with right now. And the knowledge we needed in order to be converted and saved is not enough for us to grow and progress and mature. There is this further knowledge of Christ's seating on the right hand throne, noted in Psalm 110:1, that was quoted in the NT more than any other OT verse! I am on a quest. I want to learn about this all that I can and appropriate every bit of it into my life right now as a believer. The apostles had a revelation of it in the early church that seems all but lost today in the church. How often do we think of Christ's seating on the throne right now in order for us to have confidence that we can overcome everything in this life right now, after salvation and before we get to heaven? That truth is what the New Testament is trying to instill with in us as the inspiration for bold and undefeated faith for the here and now in all life's struggles. Teach me, Oh Lord! |
Re: Power for us according to Christ's Seating
If The Lord is the head of The Church or The Kingdom of God if you will, then surely He is seated in His rightly place of authority, for how could someone be a King without a seat of dominion ?

Re: Power for us according to Christ's Seating
After reading Ephesians 1 more closely and researching studies about it, I realized the POWER it is speaking about is not only towards us, and at our disposal, but it is directly caused by the seating of Christ on the throne. The same degree of power for us is the power used to put Christ on the throne. And this power is none other than the Holy Ghost baptism!
Jesus said that we would do the things He did and greater, since He was going to the Father.... to be seated on the throne. John 7:39 said that the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified. Seated on the throne. Peter said the Holy Ghost that was shed forth is all due to the fact Jesus is set down on the right hand throne. Jesus said we would receive POWER when the Holy Ghost would come upon us. He sat on the throne AND WE GOT POWER! This is exactly what Rev 22:1 is showing in vision when we see the LAMB AND GOD on the throne with a river of life, the Holy Ghost, pouring from that throne where the LAMB sits. |
