This Is Why Non-Christians Hate Us
Televangelist Pat Robertson says the devastating earthquake in Haiti resulted from the country's deal with the devil to gain liberation.
"Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and the people might not want to talk about it," Robertson said on his Christian Broadcast Network. "They were under the heel of the French ... and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, 'We will serve you, if you get us free from the French.' True story." So the devil agreed, and the Haitians revolted and kicked the French out, the host of The 700 Club and founder of CBN went on, adding: "But ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after the other." |

Ol' Pat would use this scripture:
New International Version All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. But really, it's just plain dumb to say that unless God really spoke that. Compassion folks... sheesh. |

Let them hate us. If the story be true it makes sense.

This is an age old tactic to put false fear into the hearts of people, and you're right, Non-Christians see this as abuse. What's also troubling about this, is this creates a greater lack of trust in the many Christians who've come out of abusive churches. |

Right...that's why He died. Cuz He's out to condemn people to hell as fast as He can.

Re: This Is Why Non-Christians Hate Us
God judged nations in the NT. Does he judge nations today? Does he still see the world as nations (Nation of Israel vs others), or as individuals? Just thinking outloud.
He is a GOD that intervenes with the affairs of men. It's not impossible that any natural disaster if a judgement of GOD, but to assume so without Divine insight is heresy. |
