Todd Bentley----he's baaaaccckkk

http://www.morningstarministries.org..._Bentleys.aspx

I'm not sure how to embedd the vid., if an admin wants to go for it.

Joyner says Bentley is ministering locally. And that his restoration is "almost complete."

Joyner is challenging the way the church deals with "restoration" and "marriage and divorce." He says he wants to write about the subject. No doubt he is testing to see how the church "public" accepts Bentley, saying thus far only two negative emails out of thousands.

Possibly Joyner is moving toward the secular pattern of dealng with a scandal? 1. Plead guilty, 2. Go to rehab. 3. Have friends make public statements, "he's not a bad guy and I support him in his therepy." 4. Hide for a few months while its all forgotten. 6. Don't get caught again! 5. Come back with a new "look" and "image." 7. Write a book about the experience and how much you have learned. 7. Ink a new business/career deal.

How should the church deal with the "tainted"? We usually just say your not fit for ministry and you have to sit down. But for how long???? And what is the sign your fit to return?????

While his sleeping around is obviously a show stopper for me, his pounding of the the elderly and other antics that actually constituted his "ministry" were also a problem all along.

How can a man get the money machine working again after getting caught with his pants down?

Wow. I am NOT a fan of Todd Bentley's ministry at all, so I have to set that aside for a second....

I don't know anything about Rick Joyner, but on the surface, I can appreciate any attempt to restore someone to a relationship with Christ. However, *restore* is used loosely, because I feel that Todd Bentley is akin to a cult leader, so to restore him to a position of leadership is quite distasteful to me.

What else is there? TB is crazy. :blink

No one is "tainted" after they have repented of their sins. However, those in ministry are supposed to have a good reputation both within and without. In that light, I would say that a public scandal is worse than something handled privately, as far as how it affects a person's ability to lead. Not that a person can perpetually sin and remain in leadership as long as the public doesn't find out, but rather that when the public DOES find out about a mistake, it causes them to doubt the church as a whole. IOW, if a situation is handled privately, it may not affect the leadership ability as much as if it is made public, based solely on the influence factor. There are other factors to consider, of course.

IMO, you need to be at least somewhat gullible to follow a person like Todd Bentley, so with that in mind, I can't see him having any trouble at all taking control of a crowd in the near future.

They are dealing with it all wrong. They are praising and lifting up the "other woman". They seem brazen about what happened. Very poor leadership by Joyner.

I never was liked Bentley's ministry style. BAM! LOL. It is all showmanship IMO. And, sorry, I was "saved" when holiness also meant the way we dressed, so I really had a problem with him looking like a man going thru mid life crisis by trying to look like a teenage biker. Dude!! Leather, tats and t-shirts with the arms cut out so I can see your hairy pitts is not the way I picture a minister. I agree, how can anyone be that "gullible." ??

I don't know, but it definitely happens. In some of those types of services, he could probably say, "Drink the kool-aid" aka Jim Jones, and people would do it.
