Can Science and Scripture be in Harmony?

Recently I have noticed a few books appearing in bookstores that try to reconcile science and scientific discoveries with scripture. Is this possible? What is the apostolic viewpoint? I ask this as the books are by Baptists and Methodists.

Are there any apostolic scientists and/or believers out there who can shed any light on this and if possible give examples. They may be from any scientific discipline. Thank you in Jesus name.

There are not apostolic scientist because they all believe God created heaven and earth. So what woruld they need science for..All science might do is prove the theroy wrong...but thats just my 2cents on it...You don't have scientist running around trying to figure out how God created everything do ya....Instead you have them building a big machine trying to prove that the earth was all started with a (BIG BANG)....

All the science I have seen to me is trying to prove the bible wrong about how creation got started....So my question to you guys would be just if.....The Science is correct...then hows it going to go....

I don't see it that way. Looks to me like science is simply trying to figure out how it happened, with no intention of proving anything wrong. I'm sure there are some militant atheists in the field, who are actively trying to prove the Bible wrong, but my guess is that's a minority. Just a hunch, though. (I wonder if there are any surveys that might shed some light on this question.)

I actually find scientist to be among the most honest of us, climate gate not withstanding. Even the militant athiests among them who hold to a specific belief will not hide or fudge numbers which tend to disprove their positions -they will try to head critics off and explain them, but usually not out and out lie about them. (Again, climate gate is one of those rare instances where a whole lotta UN environmental weenie scientists were willing to do anything for political purposes.)

I haven't seen it, but my understanding is Ben Stein exposes athiestic agenda in EXPELLED.
