Federal environmental laws are handcuffing U.S. Border Patrol agents to a foot-and-horseback strategy as they try to battle Mexican drug cartels and illegal immigrants who are turning wide swaths of America's border with Mexico into a virtual no-man's land.

Perhaps its time for Americans to rise up to the call to protect OUR borders. There are enough retired military men and women to know what to do.

Yep... but Americans first have to be sure enough of themselves to be able to continue to stand when the media starts bashing them for what they do and be educated enough to eloquently defend their position.

Drug cartels are easy pickin's compared to the media and the sway they have on the American people. But a well educated and well spoken person can cut through their garbage. Someone who just shoots off their mouth usually ends up being the sound byte of choice for the next few weeks. They also tend to end up killing the effort.

Education, persistence and an ability to express what we believe in a manner that is wise, intelligible and above reproach are stronger than any other weapon. The problem is that there are too few of these around and the press sure isn't interested in hunting them down. They want "bubba" to spout of something stupid so they can take it and run with it.
