Do you pray like you used to?

Do you pray more, less or about the same as you used to? Is there less prayer now today than before?

I feel the greatest need ever, EVER right now is not more music or music ministries, not more preaching or teaching, but prayer. Particularly those that sigh and groan.

Now, that does not mean I don't think we don't need preaching or teaching, but without some real prayer behind it what is it other than intellectual pleadings?

Even people without the Holy Ghost can preach.

I remember Bro Barnes preaching once and he pointed out that there was this little old lady that would get up every day at 4 am and pray 2 hours for him. Clearly, the great man of God he was he did not attribute it to God calling him or just snapping his fingers and making the man a prophet.

More, but alas still there can be more.

Wow... if I didn't know better, I'd think you sat through the service at our church tonight.

Our youth minister preached on this same thing tonight.....and at the end of the message, gave a good old fashioned altar call. The front of the church was filled with people praying... not dancing to the beat of the music--not roaming around looking for someone to talk to, or going out to stay in the bathroom till service was over...just seeking God for themselves. What an AWESOME service... We need more like that!!

I decided I didn't have to start every prayer with "Now I lay me down to sleep" anymore a little while ago. :praying :praying:winkgrin :winkgrin

How many hours do you think Jesus prayed? Muslims pray 5 times a day to a false god....I have heard preachers mention seeing muslims in airports spreading a prayer blanket to pray at their appointed time. They drop everthing! Like clockwork!

In the bible times I have heard that jews had three different "hours" of prayer, not that they prayed for a full hour, but even the Apostles took that time to go pray

Act 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
