My Son's Freak Accident

My son was playing basketball at the rec center of his college yesterday evening and some player jumped to dunk and came down hard with his elbow on top of my son's head and split it open! I guess it bled everywhere and the lady at the front desk called the ambulance. He didn't go in the ambulance though because he wasn't dizzy and didn't want to spend the extra money. So a friend came and drove him to the E.R.

The doctor had to staple his head with no numbing. Ouch!! He said the shots in the top of his head would hurt worse than the actual one staple. He has to go Friday and get it removed. He seemed ok last night, but I haven't talked to him yet today. He's probably sleeping off the pain killers! He told me he MIGHT not make it to his church today, but I guess he had a good excuse!

I hate it when something happens to my kids and I'm not close by.

I pray for a quick healing in Jesus Name. Amen.

Ow, ow, ow. That hurts to even think about. Glad he is okay. I agree with, Adam.

Same thing happened to my son, but he was swimming and a kid jumped off the diving board too soon and her chin hit the top of his head and split it open - - lots of blood for sure.

Didn't hurt her at all. They stapled him too.

The scalp has tons and tons of capillaries...it's always gonna be a bloody mess. Glad he's doing good

I'm thinking staples to the head can't be a good feeling at all!

Glad he's going to be fine!

He sent me a picture today that someone took of him at the gym before he went to the E.R. He was covered in blood - all over his face, hair and clothes. I'm glad I wasn't there - I probably would have passed out.

OMW, don't do that to your mama.

Might not have been as bad as having his head split open
