Weird 1952 Church listing

There is a list of 1952 UPC churches here: http://www.spiritualabuse.org/images...52churches.pdf

It's a large pdf and takes a minute to load. Once its loaded if you scroll down to Virginia you will see two entries for Gate City and one for Nickelville (it should be Nickelsville, a nearby town to Gate City) but that isn't a problem. What is of interest is that for all 3 of those churches the same minister is listed. I'm not sure what to make of this? Any ideas?

Back then ministers would often pastor a circuit of churches.

I know of a minister in my wifes family that pastored in Louise Texas. They would travel from town to town in a circuit of small towns in the area. There weren't many pastors in these areas, one would assume, and they were trying to reach people in multiple areas.

LOL...

I'll be back in Texas in July. But I think he is the San Antonio area if I remember correctly... that or Austin.

I'll be in the Houston area.

Goes back to the days of circuit preachers. Churches would not have a pastor so a circuit preacher would go from church to church to preach
