Messianic Judaism Fish Or Fowl ?
Is Messianic Judaism a true form of Biblical Christianity ? Or it is a hybrid mixture of law or grace ?

Re: Messianic Judaism Fish Or Fowl ?
I do not really care. I am not a Jew of any sort. I would not at all insist on changing their following the Jewish commands, simply because that was made specifically for them. If I were to marry a young lady who was a Messianic Jewish Pentecostal, we would have a kosher house, and nothing short of it. The Bible says that they would be cut off from the Jewish people if they broke some htose rules, and I would not do that to my wife, It would take a while though to get used o eating cheese pizza though. :D

19 “Therefore my judgment is that we don’t trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to God, 20 but that we write to them that they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” 22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers. 23 They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings. 24 Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law,’ to whom we gave no commandment; 25 it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.” Acts 15:19-29 The real puzzle is after a while the book of Hebrews assumed to be written by Paul appears on the scene. It seems that in it The Holy Spirit goes beyond the Acts 15 agreement and indicates the law is being done away even for the Jewish saints. To me todays modern Messianic Judaism does not represent the faith once delivered to the saints in that it requires observance to the Law. And yet there are probably many versions of this movement out there who push law keeping to various degrees. Some are happy if we just would keep Sabbath and Feasts. Others demand the whole law be kept. |

Re: Messianic Judaism Fish Or Fowl ?
Hebrews 9 teaches the fleshly ceremonies from law were only imposed on Israel until the time of reformation. After that, no more rituals of law are meant to be kept.

Is not Christianity simply the fulfillment of the Jewish faith in the coming Messiah?

Re: Messianic Judaism Fish Or Fowl ?
Are we to keep the feasts and the sabbath like many in the Hebraic roots movement propose ?
