Communion: How often?
Do you celebrate communion weekly? Monthly? Seasonally (special occasions like holidays, etc.)? Yearly?

Re: Communion: How often?
In our church we celebrate it as Christian Passover, with Lord's Supper and Foot Washing Service. It is done once a year in our church and all the churches that are part of our fellowship. Our churches typically do it on the Thursday night prior to Resurrection Sunday.
We don't have any issues with those that do it more often, but for us, our conviction is to do it once a year and all our churches together in their own locations. |
Re: Communion: How often?
Yearly, but when I was growing up we had communion monthly. I enjoyed having communion more often. I felt that it brought us closer to one another and closer to the cross. I've also been present at home communions which were usually devotionals, prayer and then communion. A few times my Dad would go have communion with people who couldn't get out of bed or out of their homes. I felt those times were very special because they were more intimate.
I don't feel strongly about how often it should be done. |

not sure, but do think the small cracker and little 1oz juice is lacking something.

His endtime stuff was interesting, too (albeit full of holes), but I mostly enjoyed his stories from ministry and missions. |
Re: Communion: How often?
Where I attend church they offer communion weekly. At first, it was strange to me, but it has grown on me and I think it's as the scripture states, "as oft".....
They leave it up to the individual how often they take it, but it's offered each week. There's a time of prayer and reflection (after praise and worship) and you can pray where you are, go to the front for others to pray with you or go to the back to partake of communion. It's a very sweet and special time each Sunday. |
