How Many Wives does God Have?
How many wives has God had, how many wives does He have now, and how many wives will He have in total when it's all over?
In Jeremiah 3:6-10 it seems God had 2 wives: Israel and Judah. He divorced Israel but not Judah. Reading down through verse 10 of that chapter, He invites Israel to return to Him. Then in verse 14 He says "I am married to you" -not sure who the "you" is here---Israel, Judah, both? In the New Testament we read about the Church which is the espoused bride of Christ according to 2 Corinthians 11:2 and she will become His wife in the future in Revelation 19:7 Then some seem to preach that the 10 virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 were somehow potential brides but only 5 made it and 5 did not. So, does Jesus have 5 brides? Also, is Israel married to the Father and the Church married to the Son? Or since God (in flesh) died, is He now freed from His marriage to Israel and free to marry whomever He choses i.e. the Church? Or, is Israel the wife dead now so God is free to marry whomever He will? |
Re: How Many Wives does God Have?
Well, if the Church is His 'Briide'...we are 'all' His wives, so to speak.

Why does God need a bride when he does not procreate? He just creates.

If the church is the espoused bride of Christ but the marriage has not taken place yet, and we are children of God by birth, does that mean God and His Bride have brought to birth children without being married to each other?

Re: How Many Wives does God Have?
God was married to Israel, now divorced and married to the church. Israel will join the church and be part of the new bride. so being divorced and remarried he cannot be a upc minister.

Why call them wives?
That's weird. |

Doesn't God have one Bride that awaits?
