The More I Read, Obama Lost By Winning

I was mad at Roberts. Now I'm beginning to think he is a genius. Obamacare is going to hurt Obama in November just like it did in the 2010 midterms, and Roberts effectively restricted Congress's power at the same time. It's like a general suckering his opponent into a battle that the opponent perceives as a win, but in the end it weakens him to the point that he loses the war. Time will tell, but from the left to the right, analysts are seeing the long term implications of what Roberts did. It was a master stroke.

This only holds true IF the right is able to win enough in November to repeal or kill Obamacare. Otherwise, Roberts only potentially prevented future problems with new grabs while failing to eliminate this one that will financially cripple us even further.

He rstricted the commerce clause and defined it as a tax meaning congeres now controls the tax, which they can just reduce which guts it !Trust me the NY papers and others have already started the crying and anguish !

If Obama really wanted to make a mess of this, he could come out and say he wanted the whole thing rewritten as he opposes tax increases on the middle class. He could "say" that he wouldn't support this as a tax come 14 if he is re-elected, even though we all know he would be lying as usual.

That would give the illusion that he actually doesn't want to tax the middle class more and yet wants to "save" healthcare.

it may take a new bunch of appointed judges after the election of a new president to revisit the situation and instead of targeting the whole health care they attack parts of it.

it would be like knocking out the blocks that hold up a double wide trailor, eventually it would lean to one side and collapse on itself.

I think there is room for such items, because there is more in this bill besides health care that attack our personal liberties. we need to get back to the we the people again... and get out of the democtratic republican party rut..

If it is a tax scheme, then how can he push the catholics under separation of Church and state to furnish birth control?

Obama is not forward thinking.

DB: I agree. And if states are allowed to opt out of the healthcare because of the commerce clause, then this is a huge win... it seemed like all hope was lost yesterday, but hope does seem to be reviving again.

So either we have judicial activism and political corruption at the highest court in our country (which is NOT supposed to be concerned with politics), or he voted with his sincere convictions.

Either way, it doesn't paint Roberts in the best light.

Seems to me if he was against it, he could have just ended all of this.
