An Oregon grade school principal suggested in a newspaper interview that peanut butter and jelly sandwiches might be racially and culturally offensive.
“What about Somali or Hispanic students who might not eat sandwiches?” Verenice Gutierrez told the Portland Tribune.


Yeah, peanut butter sandwiches is racism...but that's not all


In some cases, that means offering programs strictly for students of color.
The newspaper provided information about a drum corps that was set up for black and Latino boys. One parent complained that the class discriminated against women, Asians, whites and Native Americans.
Guitierrez defended the class and denied it was discriminatory.
“When white people do it, it is not a problem,” she told the Tribune. “But if it’s for kids of color, then it’s a problem? Break it down for me. That’s your white privilege, and your whiteness.”


Can you believe that? Yes it really IS labeled a problem when white people do it! It's labeled "discrimination" and "racism" and here this person is doing exactly that in public schools


Cowie said the district did not have a problem with the principal’s statements.
So does the school system provide clubs strictly for white students?
“I’m not aware of that in Portland,” he said.

Oh yeah? What? So, it's okay to discriminate against white people, but it's not actually discrimination?

I don't really know what to make of it. I have never had a problem with anyone of another race or religion. I have always been against discrimination and segregation.

Just the other day there was a news story about a school wanting a deaf boy to change his name because when you spelled it in the sign language he used one of the letters looked like a gun. Good grief!

How very sad a statement is this? How do we like what?? Every effort to "compensate" for an apparent discrimination has ALWAYS made the situation worse not better.

Do you know THE greatest hindrance to equality (and equal opportunity) for all the different groups (regardless of what makes them different)...other members of that group.

In 1965, President Johnson signed the executive order that created Affirmative Action - thus creating a permanent under-class that never before existed - and never should have. By telling the various groups that they can't make it without help simply convinced them that they can't make it without help. And this propagates a cycle of discouragement from generation to generation; creating an environment that is very difficult to escape from.

In World War 2, blacks were discriminated against and Asians were sentenced to internment camps. Today, one of these groups still feels they're victims of past injustices, the other group has moved passed their past.
