Leading ‘Ex-Gay’ Organization Closes, Apologizes To LGBT Community

I am sorry that some of you spent years working through the shame and guilt you felt when your attractions didn’t change. I am sorry we promoted sexual orientation change efforts and reparative theories about sexual orientation that stigmatized parents. I am sorry that there were times I didn’t stand up to people publicly “on my side” who called you names like sodomite—or worse. I am sorry that I, knowing some of you so well, failed to share publicly that the gay and lesbian people I know were every bit as capable of being amazing parents as the straight people that I know. I am sorry that when I celebrated a person coming to Christ and surrendering their sexuality to Him that I callously celebrated the end of relationships that broke your heart. Everything and everyone must bow before "gay". Totally pathetic. Maybe gay therapy does not work but the blood of Yeshua and the Holy Ghost does.

I look at it like this... we should welcome one and all. A sinner is a sinner. We do well to approach all equally with the Gospel and the hope that's found in Jesus, regardless of their sins and struggles. We should surrender the process of sanctification to the Spirit and allow God to conform men and women into the image of Jesus. Many will have struggles whereas others will not. Many will fall and rise again more than others. Some will need to fall headlong on the grace of God more than others, knowing that grace is their only hope. All of us will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to receive reward for what we've done. Some will suffer great loss though saved yet so as by fire.
When one boils it all down to the basics we should love God with all our being. And demonstrate that love by loving others as ourselves. We all need the grace of God equally. Why? Because we are all vile sinful creatures by nature. None being righteous, no not one. None being worthy. We are not called to give therapies or to engage in "behavior modification". We are called to preach the Gospel and assist men and women in their journey to increasingly be conformed into the image and likeness of Jesus. |

There is a difference in being respectful to people that are sinning and being accepting.
God tells us NOT to fellowship with people who claim to be a Christian and have sin in their life. 9 I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual sinners; 10 yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortionists, or with idolaters; for then you would have to leave the world. 11 But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist. Don’t even eat with such a person. 12 For what have I to do with also judging those who are outside? Don’t you judge those who are within? 1 Cor. 6:9-12 The more accepting we are to them the less incentive to overcome sin. Then it gets to where the standard of the Church must go lower and lower to make those in sin comfortable. The end result if someone would dare to preach on holiness and forsaking all they seem like a "legalist". |
