Could someone give me some advice on weight loss?

I admit over the past few years -mostly since my niece and nephew were born and I spend a lot of my time with them- it seems I have gained a few pounds.
Alright being truthful more then a few, the kids are 4 and 6 years old and they love the junk food my sister always brings in.
French fries, pizza, hamburgers, tacos, ect. And I can no longer stand it! I have gained more then ten pounds in a single year and I need some good advice.
I can not go on those strange diets that people are always talking about, nor do I want to. And I can't really do the jump around exercises they show on tv but again nor do I want to for it's so immodest!
So could someone just tell me how I can change a bit for the better without seeming like a fool while doing so?
I do a lot of activities with me niece and nephew and I want to be a better example for them, my sister just got back into church and has been filled with the Holy Ghost and I praise the Lord for that, but it seems she has yet to see the light on the damage of fast food she is doing to her kids.
So any help would be wonderful!
Because if it works for me then it could help them, my niece is only 6 but yet is 70 pounds! I don't want her to be made fun of because -due to my sister's work schedule- she is in *shudders at the thought* public school.
So I know her being raised as an apostolic will be one topic for her to face in school, I don't want her to be teased for her weight.
So again any help would be wonderful!

Push away's and exercising. It is a problem with the entire body of Christ, those who speak with tongues and those who don't. I have known some rather large Oneness Apostolic's, Trinitarian Pentecostals and home grown Baptists.

Eat only things which don't "fancy" to your tastes, and refrain from those which do (besides losing weight it'll be more healthy for you)......... lol

Received this advise from a Nutritionist while recuperating from surgery in a hospital........ and it does work!

and keep riding your bike around kline line! But I usually recommend swimming for someone whose weight is creeping up. It's fab exercise--but so is the bike--and the bottom line is that anything you enjoy that makes you sweat (assuming Lauren= "male" here) = turning your flame into more of a furnace. Then you can eat whatever you want!

My sisters family all started drinking 30 onces of water before eating anything that day (even coffee), it did wonders for them... they didn't change anything aside from that in their diet...

I lost about 20 pounds a couple years ago and have kept it off aside from the occasional 2-3 pound swing. Losing it was harder than keeping it off. I thought I was going to starve to death. LOL! My body was pathetic about it. I tried a few things until I just cut way back on portions and went to smoothies for lunch. Fruit smoothies are very good for you. I make mine with fruit, honey or maple syrup, almond milk, whey protein and a few other variable odds and ends. Mostly chocolate (cocoa) banana or strawberry banana.

I eat what I want when I want, only keeping the portions smaller. I do try to eat healthy foods.

If you like chocolate, you can eat as many Ex-Lax bars as you want.
