All Demons Have Goatees
 

I have this from a good source. A UPC Pastor told a friend of mine that he had to get rid of his goatee because demons have goatees and we don't want to be associated with demons. Can anybody verify this? Has anybody here been to hell and/or a demon convention?

I've never heard that, but the good news is: the ideas held by one UPCI preacher don't represent the views of every UPCI preacher. :)

I've mostly heard the argument that beards associate you with the hippie culture...or whatnot. Lame argument, but subjectively reasonable coming from a certain age group.

I know some preachers believe facial hair is associated with sex spirits.

Like Mrs B said, Lame argument. It should never, ever have even been discussed by the board.

Cleanliness of the beard is more important than the beard or goatee. But then again, 'be sure and clean up the outside of the cup.'

If a people, a group, is seeking to live close to God, I believe that God, thru His gifts, will reveal what is inside of the cup. And then the person or the group can deal with that.

God doesn't see what is outside of the cup, He sees what is inside. And then He knows the reason for all of the scribbles, dirt, bubbled over desires, that shows on the outside of the cup, revealing what is inside.

The REASON!!!

Ladies forgive me. We usually receive the brunt of this. A woman that wants to show her cleavage does not have holy thoughts. But today in the world, it is half of the breast, that is revealed. A Woman that wears her clothes so tight that she might as well be naked, is not thinking godly thoughts.
We can guess, but God sees the REASON behind what we put on our bodies.

Sometimes, it is our ignorance, and one reason for that is the way some were raised. And another is, we don't seek and allow the Holy Ghost to teach us, what is appropriate. And one of the reasons that the Holy Ghost doesn't, is because it is all written out in the bylaws, so just follow the leader. Therefore we are listening to the leader, not the Holy Ghost.

Why seek for more wisdom? Anyone can see, if the outside of all the cup's all look alike, (especially the women) and are clean, then the inside must be. Then the Pastor can brag, “My saints---look at them, they follow the rules----or else.”
