searching out an Amish-style apostolic fellowship

A friend put in a request -

Apostolic fellowship with an Amish or head-covering view. He thought he heard of one up in northern Maine or over the border in Canada, although any location is helpful.

(Not interested in Homestead Heritage, or “sacred name” groups.)

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Steven

Is your friend just interested in beards and headcovers? Or does your friend also looking for the liturgy to be in German, no electrical devices, no technology as in motorized vehicles?

Not sure exactly. Oneness doctrine. Likely tendency toward modesty, homesteading, community. I think he would be moderate on the technology issues, agreeable to the community approach. He may appreciate a real marriage permanence doctrine.

In my interests I have some special fundamentals and convictions, however I do not want to mix the metaphors :) too much. Scotland has had some cutting-edge believers, he is mostly interested here, although it is a big world.

Homestead Heritage had a calling in this niche, but their doctrines and approach became a total mess (the Hebrew word balagon applies.) There could be sincere Christians who were touched by them but then reacted to their apostasy (e.g. “Yahweh-worship”).

And I’ll show the thread and ask for more info.

We are a group , with beards , some believe head covering , some believe it's the uncut hair, I believe in marriages permanence, but this group has never heard that way. There are currently no second marriages amongst our home group. We have 5-6 families , making up about 35-40 people. Some were former Shermanites and some ultra con apostolic.

Well, isn't that something?

Do you all live in a commune?

There is a group called the "12 Tribes" which is communal, and they all have their houses together. They all have church meetings in a central house. How do you do it?
