Could This Be a Possibilty With the UPCI????
If several ultra-conservative preachers leave the UPCI leaving a huge financial hole in the annual budget, could they (UPCI) possibly merge with the ALJC?????
There is basically no difference between the two organization anyways, and by consolidating both organizations could benefit financially! What think ye? |

Financial problems could force a merge! |
Yes, that scenario is very possible if there is an exodus of a specific seqment of member-ministers who are very conservative in their rule.
It would be a very good way to move-on with pragmatism. "piano-vision"; 88 keys to the future! |

Well.....it could be a backup plan in a worse case scenario! :) |

I was pondering almost the same thought.

That would actually be a positive thing I would think...
The UC's could break off and join up with AMF or some other UC group the others could join up with ALJC... In the end... a few fewer lines of division. |
There are a number of issues that would have to be ironed out. there is bad blood in a lot of areas.
it could happen but I suspect, what will happen is the UPCI will just have to tighten up some of its reigns. also, a number of these UC churches have found alternative means of providing support to ministries they believe in and very little of their money is actually getting routed thru St. Louis or even their own districts. the only real loss will be in License fees. I suspect the loss will be less than 500 churches. total ministers dropped less than 1000. |
