It's a bluff, but it will work. TRUTH BE TOLD who's to say social security was EVER a sure deal? This relying on the nanny state has gotten us to THIS point, our last two presidents can spend, spend, spend, spend, spend us into disaster and then the latter of the two can hold us hostage to their spending spree, by saying if we don't give them more money people won't get their social security checks. This system doesn't work. People need to face that fact, if this is our way of "moving forward", we're moving forward down a steep cliff fast. Cut the spending in half. No more foreign interventionalist wars, no more bases in nations that haven't seen war since the 40s, no more police the world, cut entitlements, etc etc.
