I hate mother's day! Did I shock any of you? I also feel the same way about Father's day, Valentines Day, my wedding anniversary...and pretty much any major or minor holiday.

What I hate about it is the fakeness. I just can't stand pretentiousness, and to me that is what so many holidays are about. People buying a card or taking Mom out to dinner because they are supposed to, or out of a sense of obligation, or to alleviate the guilt.

I love my Mom, but I don't want to buy her some lame present she doesn't need anyway because they calendar says I am supposed to. I would rather find a perfect thing to bless her with, that comes out of the abundance of my heart, throughout the year.
