Hot, cold, or lukewarm? Which one describes you today?
The hot Christian is abiding in Jesus. Enjoying time in prayer and the word. Looking forward to ways in which they can be of service to Jesus.
The cold is practically dead. No prayer time. No enjoyment of Gods word.
The lukewarm is just as comfortable with the world as with the saints. They spend a little time in prayer. A little time in scripture. Probably more time with TV or other activities than doing the things pertaining to Jesus.
They have no fervency for love with Jesus. And yet they think they will enter his Heaven.
What a shock they will receive on that day.
3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev. 3:15-19
He will spew them out of his body long before the rapture ever happens.
Both the cold and lukewarm will be lost.
It does not take "big sins" to be lost.
Just being lukewarm about Jesus will cost millions their souls.
Be stirred to action. Be zealous for Jesus and doing his commandments! If we give all to the pursuit of him he will accept us. He will honor us with revelations of his love. He will make this life exciting to us.
He will allow us to be part of his bride forever.
