When I was six, I had a best friend that could draw the most beautiful horses. They were poetry in motion. I was SO JEALOUS. I wanted to draw more than anything on this planet.
I barely knew there was a God. We didn't go to church, but mom taught us that there was a God. SO, I prayed like crazy to be an artist. I BEGGED God to allow me the abiliy to draw. I said, "God, I would like to be good at everything, but if you would, take ALL singing ability away and just give me that much more drawing ability." Remember, this was a child's prayer.
I'm one of those people that can do almost anything that I set my mind to. I'm very creative--I CANNOT carry a tune. I have taught many art classes. I'm a VERY good artist. I paint and draw mainly portraits and animals. I'm known for my ability to paint realistic eyes.
What's more is my younger sister is an artist and won an art scholarship, my daughter is an artist and ONE of my grandaughters is an artist. My youngest son cannot draw but is very creative and writes poetry--He's probably the WORST singer on the planet, even worse than I am. Nobody can figure out where in the family we got our artistic talent--HA!
