No, I'm not against tithing. What I'm against is forced tithing. The links offer information about said issue. I don't know anyone who is against freewill tithing.
The official stance from catholic sources is no mandatory tithing.
I asked my X Upc pastor if I was in violation of God's word by not tithing, he said I was. Met with him before I went there and he had no problem with it. After awhile that changed when people started to leave there.
