But, just as the term "God" can be pretty generic and used by unbelievers, modernists and new agers, so can the term "Christ." The term "Christ" can be used in a way that applies to and lumps together all different folks that were teachers, moralists, reformers, humanists, etc. Gautama Buddha, Confucius, Mahatma Ghandi, Mohammed, etc can all be considered anointed teachers or christs by folks like Oprah, Shirley McLaine, etc.

Yes, Jesus was and still is the Christ/Messiah/Anointed One and we can call Him that. But His name (and God's highest name) is Jesus. Terms like God and Christ can be awfully generic, but if we call Him Jesus Christ it has a little more power.
Recently a friend told me that he is sometimes feels a little uncomfortable if someone uses Christ too much in their dialogue .... Does anyone else feel this way also?
