Yes, Avast is updated. I always keep everything updated. I am wondering why my Avast was disabled under Add-ons. How does that happen?

Maybe there was a browser update

Thanks, downloaded this and ran a scan. 7 threats, if they are telling the truth. I never trust any of these sites.
Also, I had read (on some Geek website) that Malwarebytes is not as effective unless you purchase versus downloading the free Malware. Same thing for the link you provided, I wonder?

The reason they say that isn't that it's not as effective in finding and removing but that it won't protect you from infections. It's a post infection tool

Something that really ticked me off a couple of weeks ago. My sister was wanting me to meet her somewhere and wanted me to find out the driving distance. I went to MapQuest to put in the information and what do you know? I opened my email account and there is MapQuest. How in the world did they get my email address from using their website?!!!
|
They don't. Was it an email from mapquest or an advertsement?

AND I have an account at Amazon and they are sending me info via my email, addressing me by my user name on this forum - Pressing-On!

I recommend changing ALL your passwords. Don't do any banking or purchases using this PC.
Someone may be remote accessing it.
What Virus did Malwarebytes or Spybot find?
SuperantiSpyware is recommended by a lot of the tech guys on the help forums like bleepingcomputer
