Re: What Are You Reading Currently, 2.0
I started reading Ninja: 1,000 Years of the Shadow Warrior by John Man.
I couldn't really get into it, and so, put it down. In its place, I've begun reading a book I forgot I had (it was buried at the bottom of one of the many stacks of unread books laying about my bedroom), called The Noon-Day Devil: Acedia, The Unnamed Evil of Our Times by Jean-Charles Nault, O.S.B.
This book is a study into, and a meditation on, how the Desert Fathers of the Monastic Movement comprehended the sin of sloth, and more pointedly, the devil behind it.
It's been pretty eye-opening so far, and has, at least for me, been on the level when it comes to its Scriptural merits.
On a related note, I had a very difficult, even provocative dream after reading the first 57 pages. It's a dream that I won't get into here, but is one I feel is from God, as hard as it may be to comprehend that, as the dream gave me a chance to examine and understand some things about my past history with suicidal depression and involvement with evil spirits.
Hopefully, the rest of the book will be as enlightening!
