Then the individuals who don't have a legal binding secular marriage split up. Someone wants part of the house, guess what? Someone is going to lose and lose big. The Bible is where we get contract law, and funny how everyone wants to get spiritual until money and property is involved. The secular government is still going to recognize the children as being the fruit of the relationship. Will also determine the guardian parent the one who will collect monies from child support. Whether you wanted to get a marriage license or not Child support has no statute of limitations. Same sex marriage being legalized is a Johnny come lately, and holds no bearing on the discussion. People don't get marriage papers for varying reasons sometimes motivated from what they can gain from "secular government" as monies.
