Re: Happy Birthday Sister Alvear

Thank you...."Why don't you just leave them alone as they are?" Is what I often hear while in Brazil. "Those people are happy in their religions and customs, let them alone in their cultures and religions, why spend your time and talents in a land so far away?" How do know that people who live so far away in pagan darkness are happy? Have you ever watched a pagan die? Have you ever witnessed tears as somone heard the music of the call of the Lord?
It is easy to say, Come home Sister Alvear and enjoy what time you have left as I am 74 today...56 of those years have been spent as a missionary! No, I have no desire for the better things of life only a desire to have funds to help others come to know our Jesus. Shopping for things has no pull on me only shopping for others....What do I personally need? Nothing really...The farm project needs help...cars need tires but me personally nothing... Our personal van needs tires one ripped this week...so we really need a spare and if any birthday money comes in that is what I will buy. It is my joy to be a missioanry... I have never lost the wonder that He called me...even in the ups and downs of life...Today we rented an extra car as there is a need to transport more people to another area...this is my life...Thank those that have been faithful in prayers and offerings to help us out in so many ways...I love you precious folks...
