I think the speaker has been taught this and needs a chance to find out he is wrong on his definition.
Settling on "modesty" is so much easier, because really, that would discount the wearing of a lot of pants on women.
But, the point is -
Deut 22:5 is not speaking of pants, so get to the issue - modesty.
