When people are online posting on public forums I don't see where one person is any better than the other. I understand people wanting ministers to be respected. I do have respect for the ministry. However, this is an internet forum-- not a church. I don't feel that any group of posters should be elevated and treated differently than any of the other posters on the forum. If a person shows me respect and treats other posters with respect, I will show them the same respect. However if they post with a nasty attitude-- (and believe me, I've seen some ministers do just that) they are pretty much going to get what they dish out. That's just the nature of a public forum. If people can't deal with that... perhaps a forum isn't the best place for them.

This is dead on. My post was not meant to slam preachers as was implied.
It's kind of sad to me, that
some ministers have trouble with the level playing field concept. In the arena of ideas, they are no different than non-ministers. To me, a special "preachers only" forum, even if it's not their intent, reeks of exclusion and elitism. This doesn't belong in the Body of Christ.
