Mortify means to kill, to become dead.

But that is not what Paul was talking about in 1 Cor 15. Paul was talking about real bodies actually dying. And then he mentioned resurrection. Nothing in 1 Cor 15 speaks of denying self.

The verses you show are PERFECT to show spiritual dying to SELF, but not to sin. When we speak of 1 Cor 15, we need to recognize that nothing is involving denying self, but rather actual and physical death.

It's just that we took 1 Cor 15:31 out of context when we say that speaks of denying self.
