The statement that you cite is in a passage found on pages 286 - 287 of the Oneness of God, Volume 1, by DKB.
As that passage indicates, you really need to go back to the discussion in the previous chapter to get the whole line of thinking. There is a complex development of Trinitarian doctrine that is made outside of the Biblical accounts of God's description and indentification. Bernard claims that this is problematic.
What if Christendom enforced only those creeds whose language were scriptually based? Oneness Pentecostals would have to grow up real fast.
