Complacency has always been my fear for after 9-11. Americans tend to have very short memories and do not understand the nature of the terrorist threat.
Islamic Militant Terrorists think longer term. It was nothing for them to wait 8 years between their first attempt to bring down the World Trade Center in 1993 and their successful second try in 2001. We didn't understand the significance of the first bombing enough to start the war on terrorism then.
Now just a few years later Americans are buying the line that everything is our fault and if we would just be nice to everybody they would leave us alone. This shows a fundamental misunderstanding of radical Islam.
