Re: The Plan of Salvation for a Backslidder

Yes! We ALL do this in varying degrees. If we say we have no sin, we are liars. There is NO ONE who has been saved who has not disregarded the scripture. We can talk about holiness all day long, but at the end of the day, we still have a flesh to contend with and NO amount of Holy Ghost will keep one from sinning. Ain't EVER happened and never will.

The real question is how far can someone go and "revoke" their salvation/sonship etc.

I have re-baptized people who were baptized in Jesus' name previously. Not because I thought they needed to, but because THEY thought they needed. It was important to them to put some things behind them.

BTW, baptism, as we call it, was mikveh in the NT and was practiced by the Jews. It was not something new and was done frequently...hence the multitude of mikveh baths in Jerusalem in Jesus' day.

The short answer is all they really NEED to do is ask for forgiveness!
