This post makes me sad. Growing up my parents always invited the single people with no family to join our family. It wasn't just because he was the pastor either. My dad's entire family is like this. We just love people and want everyone to have a family.
Nothing bothers me more than to have my husband's siblings complain because their mom invites non family people to join us for Thanksgiving or whatever the occasion. We should all be more sensitive and giving.
