To me this has less to do with him leaving Apostolic church and more to do with his culture. Black people are more into this than european-americans.

I believe the best thing to be is conservative in dress and lifestyle. By doing this, one does not offend and can minister to more people.
To me such actions, cause Jakes to be more limited to his ethnic background. Most white men will take offense to this.
In the late 90s, I liked Jakes. I even went to his church a couple of times in 2002. However, I stopped listening to him some time back because he seems to be preaching too many social concerns and not enought meat of the Word.
