I can let a lot of things go, but this one stuck in my craw, as well. I emailed the editors personally, as have many others.
that's cool, if you think it's worth doing. jesus didn't worry too much about what other people thought of him and his methods. he just went about doing his business.

i think the letter was poorly written. jj failed to consider the wp's point of view as it concerns people who speak in tongues. his letter came across as way too aggressive, too emotional, way too defensive, and way too...well, bombastic. jj, or anyone else who chooses to write to wp, would do well (imo) to read Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" before they write their letters to the editor and remember that a soft answer turns away wrath. This kind of letter only reinforces the negative image that the wp has of tongue talking people. I'm surprised that a high profile leader like jj wasn't more measured. I would hope that a man of his stature would regret the tone of his approach.

it would be good to remember as well that the wp's main objective is to make money, and they do that by selling news. they love this sort of uproar cuz it tells them that more people are reading their news and they're making more money. plus, the more vitriol that comes in the higher the wall between us grows and the happier they are. If we turn the other cheek and express ourselves in kindness, gentleness, and meekness it has a more likely chance of influencing them than letters of this sort.
