Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground (body), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (spirit); and man became a living soul.
All other animals had breath but not God consciousness. Only man was made a spiritual being with Gods image and eternal soul. Man through his spirit has creativity and decision making capabilities. He is not just an instinctive animal.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Psa 119:109 My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.
Psa 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
Psa 30:3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Psa 34:22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
